The IND-486D is a powerful single board computer that supports high performance 486 CPUs. Compatible with older passive backplane systems, the IND-486D can replace outdated 386 and slower 486 systems at a very reasonble cost. Wide use of CMOS components and surface mount technology on a six layer printed circuit board result in a SBC that is both rugged and cost effective. With its high performance, low power consumption, small size, wide temperature range and AT Bus compatibility, it is an ideal solution for the OEM/system integration marketplace. The IND-486D contains an on-board socket that supports the DiskOnChip form M-Systems. This can provide upto 24MB of bootable Flash Disk. The IND-486D provides a high performance parallel port supporting SSP, EPP and ECP modes. In addition, both serial ports contain 16550 compatible FIFOs to eliminate data loss at high baud rates. The watch dog timer provides the fail safe operation required for cirtical control applications. If a hardware or software malfunction occurs, the IND-486D either generates a Reset or Non Maskable Interrupt (jumper selectable).
